Body Corseting

CorsetBody corseting is a fairly new craze which is popular with fashion forward females who want to stand out from the crowd – but it is not something for the faint hearted!

A full flesh body corset involves piercing the skin numerous times in two vertical lines. Then a ribbon is laced through these piercings. The body corset takes its name from the type of lingerie which squeezes a woman’s figure into an hourglass shape.
There are also several variations to this type of piercing – it can be done both down the woman’s back (either side of the spine) or on the side of the body. The most common type of body jewellery used is a ring – this allows for a material to pass through to give that ‘corset effect’. Usually coloured silk ribbons are passed through in a zig-zag fashion, although other materials such as rope or chain can be used too.

There are several problems noted with these types of piercings. The healing process can be lengthy, and the ribbons can pull on the rings causing irritation to the skin. Therefore it is not recommended to wear ribbon in your corset all the time, instead only display your full ribbon corset on special occasions and remove it when you sleep.
